Vigo in One Day
Vigo’s itinerary, that lets you discover the city in one day, will take you through the landscapes and inform you about their history. You also go through the commercial sites and sample their traditional dishes. This day route has been planned for you to enjoy the urban essence of Vigo, along with the ancient sites to see.
Start the morning with a cup of coffee at one of the terraces at Príncipe Street. Head to the site of Vigo’s Museum of Contemporary Art, and see the collection. As you get out, you will notice the commercial establishments tempting you to do some shopping. Once you’re done here, go a little ahead to see Vigo’s Cultural Golden Mile. This is the block where the city has most cultural centres founded. One day will not be enough to go through all of them, but you might come across some interesting exhibitions.
After you’re done in this area, get to the Policarpo Sanz Street and walk till the end to discover the Old Town. Walk in through the lovely Plaza de la Constitución and take some time for drinks and lunch. You will get some typical restaurants to serve you with traditional food down the legendary Oyster Street.
If you are travelling with your family, a nice idea could be to take a tourist’s bus tour at eve. They take you through some of the most beautiful parts of the city, and you don’t have to walk too much. Friends or couples can walk to O Castro Mountain from the Old Town, and enjoy the best sunset at Galicia. It offers lovely views of the Vigo estuary.
End the tour down the beach and walk around La Alameda and Montero Ríos. These pedestrian and stately streets are filled with the best terraces, where you can finish your tour in style!
