Fuerteventura in one day
If you only have one day to spare for Fuerteventura you’d be sad to miss out on a lot you could have seen. But, the best part about your tour is that you can have it customised according to your requirement. This means that you can simply aim at going to the probable coast that would serve you the best and stick to that. The Cofete beach is probably ranked as the top beach of Fuerteventura and of Spain in general, and would be the ideal choice if you wanted to have a good beach day. Reaching there can be a little hard as it’s not a very touristic beach, but it will be worth your trip.
We have a day tour planned for you, just in case it suits you, you can stick to this. As you get inside the island from a ferry, try to not miss out on Betancuria. The dramatic and stark landscapes will lead you to this religious area which has great significance to locals today. It is cradled into volcanic hills and gives a mesmerising experience. Get to the pretty squares around and visit the church of Santa Maria of course. The Baroque altar is the finest piece of art to see here. After this, trace the corkscrew mountain roads and reach the most spectacular viewpoint to see the area around. The mountainous scenery in front will leave you awed, after which you should continue to Pajara. This is a traditional village which is famous for the Church of Our Lady of Regla. The church has two aisles along with intriguing Aztec-style door carvings. Travel through the lovely capital of Puerto del Rosario as you go south towards Corralejo. Get to the spectacular National Park and admire the giant sand dunes that merge into aquamarine seas. Relax here and take some time to try out some tasty local cuisine.
