Mallorca is home to more than 200 beaches. With so many choices, you really can’t go wrong with any beach you chose. Here are the top beaches in Mallorca.
Torrent de Pareis
Torrent de Pareis- Located at the edge of the mountains in between two rocky cliffs near Sa Calobra, this beach, is a pebble beach that is a popular spot for picnic goers. You will need to hike to this beach.
Cala Varques- Located 12 km south of Port Cristo, this beach is isolated. It’s a short hike to the beach, but you can come in by boat. The beach has white sand and clear turquoise water. The area is surrounded by rocky cliffs, which help create waves that come crashing on the beach and rock.
Calo des Moro
Calo des Moro- Calo des Moro is located just six miles from Santanyi. This beach is small but is a great place for people who enjoy swimming. Just like the other beaches, the water is clear and turquoise. There is a parking lot nearby, and from there it is just a short walk to the beach.
Cala Mondrago- Located in Mondrago National Park, this beach is famous. It is in a remote location, but the scenery surrounding the beach attracts many tourists. It’s considered one of the most beautiful areas due to its pine trees, rocky coves and cliffs.
Playa de Formentor
Playa de Formentor- This beach is located on the shores of Cap De Formentor in northern Mallorca. This part of the island offers a dramatic coastline. The beach is very popular, and due to this, there are many amenities in the area such as restrooms, water fountains, restaurants and shops.
Playa de Muro and Playa de Alcudia
Located on the northeastern side of the island, Playa de Muro and Playa de Alcudia are well known for their long, sandy beach. Playa de Alcudia starts at the port and runs for several kilometers before conjoining with Playa de Muro. The beaches run for five to six kilometers and are split into three sections with each offering something different. Two-thirds of the 5 km stretch of beach is resort-backed, meaning there are resorts right on the beach. This area sees more traffic. There is a more quiet and secluded portion of the beach, which is known as Es Comu. It is a bit further away (past Playa de Muro).
Playa de S’Amarador
Located in the Mondrago Natural Park, this beach is located on the South Eastern Coast of Mallorca. The beach is fine-grained sand, with crystal clear seawater. The beach is surrounded by pine trees, which helps keep the crowds away. Though it may seem remote, the beach is reasonably accessible by car, and there’s even a free parking area nearby.
Playa de Es Trenc
Located just six and a half kilometers from Colonia de Sand Jordi, Playa de es Trenc is regarded for its fine white sand and its crystal clear turquoise water. The beach is backed by dunes, which provides a separation from the agriculture and wetlands behind the beach. Parts of this beach are designated as nudist areas.
Cala Torta is situated on the northeastern side of the island and is a well-known spot to escape crowds. Surrounded by low-lying cliffs, the sand here is very fine, and the water is crystal clear. It’s not very child-friendly, as the sea is deep, but the beach offers a lot of space to relax. This beach allows nude sunbathing.
