There are several popular festivals on the island that attract both locals and tourists, the most important of which is the Sant Jaume festival, which is held in late July. This celebrates the Saint of the island. Other popular festivals include Flower Power, which embraces the island’s past hippy culture which was prevalent in the 1970s. This festival runs three non-consecutive days. Each day it is held is in a different city and dates can vary between June and July for the events.
Formentera is small but exotic. For an island that is just 12 miles long, it offers a varying landscape packed with unique beaches. While many simply take day trips to the island while visiting Ibiza, it is also a great place to stay.
