The climate in Nerja is superb. There are approximately 320 days of sunshine each year. This is due to the area’s own micro-climate and it is protected by the surrounding Sierra de Almijara Mountains.
The winter temperature in December rarely dips below 18 degrees centigrade and during the months January to March the average daytime temperature is 22 degrees.
The rest of the year the temperature fluctuates from 23 degrees and above with August being the hottest month of the year. However, Nerja is far cooler than inland, this explains why a lot of the Spanish holiday on the coast, during the summer.
