Global Environment Facility
Global Environment Funding (GEF) provides grants to various types of projects ranging from several thousand dollars to several million dollars. The GEF finances Enabling Activities related to the conventions on biodiversity, climate change, and persistent organic pollutants, to help countries prepare national inventories, strategies, action plans, and reports under these conventions (see Operational Guidance for Enabling Activities for operational guidance). They represent a basic building block of GEF assistance to countries.

Project types:
Full-Sized and Medium-Sized Projects: Over $1 million; Up to US $1 million
Small Grants Programme: Up to $ 50,000

Adaptation Fund
The Adaptation Fund was established to finance concrete adaptation projects and programmes in developing countries that are parties to the Kyoto Protocol and are particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change. Click here to view funded projects.
