Legal activities undertaken by SPREP encompass 4 broad areas:

• provision of advice regarding Multilateral Environmental Agreements;
• secretariat duties for 3 regional conventions: Apia, SPREP (or Noumea) and Waigani;
• provision of advice regarding domestic environmental legislation; and
• entering into agreements with other bodies.

SPREP

This section deals with the Agreement Establishing SPREP,1993 and related instruments and provides a table of Parties as well as a chronology of SPREP Meetings.

Plans, Policies, Partnerships

A list of significant plans, policies or partnerships relevant to SPREP's work.

International

International instruments relevant to SPREP's work in the areas of Sustainable Economic Development, Ecosystems Management, Climate Change,  and Waste Management. 2006 Calendar of international meetings.

Regional

This section deals with the three regional instruments, for which SPREP is the secretariat: the Apia Convention 1976, the SPREP (or Noumea) Convention 1986 and the Waigani Convention 1995. Tables of Parties.

National

A sample of important environmental laws for each of SPREP's twenty five constituents.

Articles and Publications

A list of articles of interest by various authors and a list of environmental legal publications available at SPREP which have been produced by or with the assistance of SPREP.
