Women play a major role in community fisheries in the Pacific Islands
The Coastal Fisheries Management Section comes under the SPC Coastal Fisheries Programme. It was established to provide a regional support services that assist Pacific Islanders in identifying the status and optimizing the long-term social and economic value of small-scale fisheries and aquatic resources in Pacific waters.
