UoB: Masters programme in Environment and Sustainable Development to resume

Manama, June 26 (BNA) - Dean of the Science College at the University of Bahrain (UoB) Dr Hashim Ahmed Al Sayed today announced that the Masters programme in Environment and sustainable development at the start of the 2011/2012 semester.
Dr Al Sayed said that this programme is considered one of the most important academic programmes that the UoB had presented in 2002 in cooperation with the UNESCO towards further developing the academic standards of higher studies at the university. This programme he said had been previously under scientific research and that recently the UoB council had decided to place it under the College of Science. Dr Al Sayed affirmed that this programme had previously and would continue to graduate students capable of leading and directing academic research activities in a proper manner. He also highlighted the fact that around 16 students had previously graduated from this programme and who are currently actively contributing to the development programme in the country.
He said that the programme would open means of cooperation with national, Arab and international establishments related to environmental issues.
