Our Computer service package includes
Email Account
Once you formally accept your USP offer of employment, your email account will be automatically generated. You will be informed of your account details via phone. Or you could collect it from the Help Desk after showing us your staff ID.
Access to Internet
Your computer will be configured to access the Internet via the Universities Internet connection. On occasions you may find that certain web sites are unavailable. If you require a particular site for work purposes, and your browser displays the 'site blocked' page, simply follow the instructions given on the page. Fill out an online request and submit it. Providing you have filled in the form correctly, the site will be made available during the next scheduled update of the filter. Normally this should be within the next two hours. Students cannot submit request to unblock, instead they have to send their request for website to the student helpdesk via email to helpdesk(at)student.usp.ac.fj
Special Access
- USP Administrative System
Access to the integrated administrative system, Banner, can be obtained by completing an application form that is available at our website. Check with your Head of department for access privileges.
- Class Shares (Laucala campus only)
The class share is a network share that can be made available to you to post your lecture notes, announcements and other teaching aids for your students. This facility is available on the Studenet, and can be accessed by students remotely from anywhere outside USP. Lecturers or course Coordinators who wish to use this service need to contact the Helpdesk for the creation of your class share. - USP has limited facilities for dial-up access.(Laucala campus only)
If you require this service please apply in writing to the Director I.T.Services stating the reason for dial-up services. Your Supervisor/HOD should endorse the letter. Once your dial-up request is approved, you will be notified via email.

- Personal webshare
As part of your personal share you also have a 'www' directory where you can store your personal webpage. The website address is staff.usp.ac.fj/~username
- Public domain Software
Some popular shareware and freeware Windows utilities are available on the public drive called //nas2/publicsw. Check the Readme.txt file for a description of the files.
- Newsgroups
