- How do I get an email account?
Once you formally accept your USP offer of employment, your email account will be automatically generated. You can collect your email account details from the Help Desk after showing us your ID card for verification purposes. [top]
- How can I connect to the USP network from home?
USP has limited facilities for dial up access. If you require this service please apply in writing stating the reason for dial-up services. Your Supervisor/HOD should endorse the letter. Once your dial-up request is approved, you will be notified via email with directions on how to set it up. [top]
- How can I connect to my email from home?
Once you are connected to the USP Network, you can access the USP Webmail by going to this web address webmail.usp.ac.fj [top]
- How can I connect to the Internet from home?

- Is there any Internet charges I have to pay to use Internet from home?
No, there are no charges for your remote Internet access. USP pays the Internet charges, you only pay for the local phone call. [top]
- Where can I access free softwares from locally?
Some popular shareware and freeware Windows utilities are available on the public drive called \\nas2\publicsw. Check the Readme.txt file for a description of the files.
To access public share:
- Right-click My Computer
- Select Map Network Drive

- Accept the assigned drive letter
- In Folder, type \\nas2\publicsw
- Click Finish

- How do I protect my home PC from viruses?
You can copy the Stinger utility from the Help folder on \\nas2\publicsw Stinger is a stand-alone utility used to detect and remove specific viruses. It is not a substitute for full anti-virus protection, but rather a tool to assist you when dealing with an infected system. Stinger utilizes next generation scan engine technology, including process scanning, digitally signed DAT files, and scan performance optimizations.
