Enable WebDAV Access from Windows XP SP2 machines

Note:

These instructions applies only to the USP staff:

  • who uses Windows XP, after upgrading to Service Pack 2.
  • who has access to create/update web-pages within the USP websites
  • who are not able to create and update their department websites after upgrading to Windows XP Service pack 2.

USP staff who donot need to follow these instructions:

  • users who are currently using Windows XP, but have not upgraded to Windows XP Service Pack 2
  • users who donot have privileges to create/update their department websites
  • users who are using other operating systems apart from Windows XP without Service Pack 2. e.g. Windows 9x/ME, Windows 2000, RedHat linux, Mac OS X
  1. Click to download webdav_enabler.zip file
  2. Unzip "webdav_enabler.zip" using your favourite File Compression software. e.g. WinZip, WinRAR, WinACE etc..
  3. The zipped archive contains only 1 file called "webclient.reg", double-click "webclient.reg" and it will pop-up asking "Are you sure you want to add the following information to the registry", click "Yes".
  4. Restart your machine after installing "webclient.reg" file to the registry.
