Application Development Tools

MIS uses a number of development tools to support and develop business applications used and required by USP.

• The Banner Application (Business logic and User Interfaces) use a number of Oracle tools. These are as follows:
• Oracle Forms 6i
• Oracle Report Writer
• PL/SQL 
• Pro*Cobol
• Pro*C,C++
• MIS-Online Suite of Application have been developed using a number of Microsofts Products.

Database Management System

Our main Corporate Database, 'Banner' has Oracle Server 9i version as its DBMS which ensures reliability, concurrency and a very high level of redundancy.

For small databases and applications that do not have a large user base, we employ Microsoft's SQL Server as the DBMS.
