Data Scrubbing
Data Integrity issues is not missing from USP's corporate database thus this project. MIS has engaged itself with this task of analysing the kinds of data it has within the Banner database, establishing relationships that exist or should exist  between tables and fields within a table or across multiple tables and coming up with recommendations and solutions in the forms of scripts containing data rules to enforce data integrity.

The project will run through 2004  and will see a number  of deliverables along the way.

  • Data matrix showing relationships
  • Scripts to enforce data integrity.

 

Properties/Facilities/Asset/Inventory Management
This Web Application Development is completed. This application can be accessed via MIS-Online. Data on USP Properties/Facilities including buildings and vehicles are now available on-line.

The owners of this application and database is Physical Planning and Maintenance. Other users who are using the system include the Provost Office Housing Officer and Purchasing Office. The user base is envisaged to expand as more information is captured and the USP community more aware of whats available on MIS-Online. 

 

Room Booking System
The Room Booking System is also a Web Based Application targeted to allow staff and those arranging for meeting rooms and equipment to be able to view on-line those rooms and equipments availability. It also allows staff to make on-line requests to book an equipment or a room.

The project is going through implementation.

 

USP Solutions Consultant Web Application Database

 

Upgrading Oracle Server to 9i

This project was completed in July 2004. USP's Banner database now uses Oracle Server 9i DBMS.

  
Installing Banner 6.0 in Test

A part of this work has been carried out successfully and a Banner 6.0 database is now available on the server LELE.

The Banner browser based forms(user interface) is also available but the whole set up still requires further refinement before it is rolled out for users to plough through.

 

Payroll Web Reporting

A number of Payroll reports are now being trasformed into Web based one to allow Payroll Users to easily view their kind of information. We are targeting that the project be completed by 31st December 2004.
