Intergovernmental Preparatory Committee for 3rd International Conference on SIDS

Towards the end of 2013 or beginning of 2014, an intergovernmental preparatory committee will convene to prepare for the 2014 Third International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS). The decision on the preparatory process for the Conference was taken in the UN General Assembly (UNGA) on 21 December 2012, following consultations in the Second Committee, which approved Resolution A/C.2/67/L.40. The PrepCom process likely will culminate with a final meeting ahead of the Conference itself, in Apia, Samoa, in 2014.
