Eight Pacific Island countries have made over 4.5 million square kilometers of international waters in the Pacific off-limits to purse seine fishing for tuna. The decision was finalized on 23 April 2010, during the fifth Ministerial Meeting of the Parties to the Nauru Agreement (PNA). 5 August 2010: The 41st meeting of the Pacific Islands Forum, which took place in Port Vila, Vanuatu, from 4-5 August 2010, concluded with the issuance of a Communiqué, which contains a section on climate change.
