29 June 2012: The Adaptation Fund Board approved a grant of $10 million to the Planning Institute of Jamaica to protect livelihoods and food security through the direct access financing pathway of the Adaptation Fund.

14 June 2012: The Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Convention) has announced that the Government of Jamaica has designated the Mason River Protected Area Bird Sanctuary, as its fourth Ramsar site.
