13 July 2011: The second meeting of the Caribbean Wetlands Initiative discussed the region’s implementation of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Convention), and resulted in agreement on activities and material to be presented and disseminated during the upcoming Pan-American meeting and the 11th meeting of the contracting parties (COP 11) to the Ramsar Convention.

26 July 2011: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published ten submissions (FCCC/SBSTA/2011/MISC.10) on views on carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS) in geological formations as Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project activities.

4 August 2011: The World Bank approved a US$8.75 million grant from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) to establish trust funds for the long-term conservation and management of over 100,000 hectares of marine habitat in the Eastern Caribbean.
