Sub-regional Rio+20 Prepcoms - Caribbean

It is proposed that three sub-regional prepcoms be held in the Caribbean, Pacific and AIMS regions prior to the respective regional prepcoms. Such sub-regional prepcoms though not explicitly mentioned in the Rio+20 mandate resolution GA 64/236 are part of the regional implementation arrangements under the Johannesburg Program of Implementation; and efforts are being made to optimize limited resources by planning them in conjunction with already planned relevant or related events, especially in the Pacific and Caribbean regions.
