27 November 2012: The UN University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) has released a report on climate-induced loss and damage, based on case studies from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Gambia, Kenya and the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). The study found that all five countries have suffered climate-induced loss and damage, despite implementing adaptation and coping measures.

19 November 2012: The UNFCCC has released a report on the regional expert meetings on a range of approaches to address loss and damage associated with the adverse effects of climate change, including impacts related to extreme weather events and slow onset events (FCCC/SBI/2012/29). 9 November 2012: UN General Assembly (UNGA) President Vuk Jeremić convened an informal meeting of the Assembly to address issues arising from Hurricane Sandy.
