5 July 2012: As part of its Acclimate Project, the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC) convened a high-level workshop to discuss a draft regional strategy for climate change adaptation for the western Indian Ocean islands. 2 July 2012: The fourth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee to Prepare a Global Legally Binding Instrument on Mercury (INC 4) met to continue negotiating the text of a treaty to regulate mercury use and reduce its environmental and health impacts.
