In addition to the three sub-regional meetings for small island development States (SIDS) to prepare for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20), this interregional meeting is expected to take place at the ministerial level. This meeting will provide a forum for the SIDS of the different regions to discuss their priority issues in relation to the Rio+20 themes, and to develop common positions, strategies and expectations as to the outcome of Rio+20.
