The Fifth Oceania Regional preparatory meeting for the 11th Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties (COP 11) to the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Convention) will be hosted by the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP). 2 February 2012: The Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Convention) and the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) jointly celebrated World Wetlands Day (WWD) 2012 around the theme of wetlands and tourism, with the goal of advancing sustainable tourism development in wetlands.
