The GEF Council Meeting will develop, adopt and evaluate GEF programmes. Council members representing 32 constituencies (16 from developing countries, 14 from developed countries, and two from countries with transitional economies) will be represented. 15 April 2011: The Executive Committee (ExCom) of the Multilateral Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol (MLF) convened for its 63rd meeting in Montreal, Canada, from 4-8 April 2011. The meeting committed over US$40 million to phase-out approximately 400 tons of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) in 39 developing countries.

May 2011: The Ozone Secretariat has released documents in the lead up to the upcoming 31st Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG) meeting, scheduled to convene in Bangkok, Thailand, in August 2011. The documents include a proposal from the US, Canada and Mexico, and one from the Federated States of Micronesia, to phase-down hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) under the Montreal Protocol.

9 May 2011: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) OzonAction Programme has launched the Ozone2Climate Technology Road Show, and ozone- and climate-friendly technology exhibition, in the Maldives.
