19 October 2012: The UN Collaborative Programme on reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries (UN-REDD) has released the October edition of the UN-REDD Newsletter, previewing the ninth Policy Board meeting to be held on 26-27 October 2012, in Brazzaville, the Republic of Congo.

September 2012: The Focal Points Forum Meeting of the Parties to the Convention for the Protection, Management and Development of the Marine and Coastal Environment of the Western Indian Ocean (WIO) Region (Nairobi Convention) met in Maputo, Mozambique, on 9 August 2012. 15 September 2012: The Cook Islands and New Caledonia have announced the establishment of new marine parks. The Cook Islands Marine Park encompasses approximately 1.1 million square kilometers (km2) of the southern Cook Islands’ Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), making it the largest single-country marine park.
