The Pacific Islands Forum is a regional political and economic policy institution comprising 14 Pacific Island countries, Australia and New Zealand. This meeting, marking the 40th anniversary of the Forum, will be hosted by the Government of New Zealand. At this meeting, Forum Trade Ministers will consider regional work programmes, including the operations of the Office of the Permanent Delegation of the Pacific Islands Forum to the World Trade Organisation, trade promotion work undertaken by Pacific Islands Trade and Invest, and progress on frameworks for the protection of Traditional Knowledge and Intellectual Property.
