The 43rd meeting of the Pacific Island Forum (PIF 43) will take place from 27-31 August 2012. The meeting will be preceded by a Smaller Islands States (SIS) Leaders’ Meeting and Pacific African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States Leaders’ Meeting. PIF 43 will include a Formal Session, Leaders’ Retreat, and post-Forum Dialogue Partners’ Plenary Session. 23 May 2012: The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) has announced that Kiribati will have access to US$4 million in funding from the Pacific Environment Community (PEC) to supplement electricity generation through solar energy. 11 May 2012: At the 2012 Forum Trade Ministers’ Meeting (FTMM), the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) updated ministers on its trade-related work, including the region’s Traditional Knowledge (TK) Action Plan.
