25 March 2011: The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) convened the fifth round of the Pacific Islands Countries Trade Agreement (PICTA) negotiations in Koror, Palau, from 16-18 March 2011. 4 April 2011: The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) reported progress on the disbursement of US$66 million to the Pacific region under the Pacific Environment Community (PEC) Fund, having received concept notes from 12 of the 14 Pacific Island countries eligible to access the Fund.

10 May 2011: The Pacific Island Forum Secretariat (PIFS) announced that additional finance is available from the EU’s 10th Development Fund (EDF10) to Pacific Island Countries (PICs) considered “good” performers.

13 May 2011: The Pacific Island Forum Secretariat (PIFS) and World Trade Organisation (WTO) convened a capacity building workshop for parliamentarians in Port Vila, Vanuatu, from 11-13 May 2011. The workshop focused on the multilateral trading system and negotiations underway in the WTO.
