29 June 2012: The Pacific Adaptation to Climate Change (PACC) project has provided funding and support for Solomon Islands’ launch of its National Climate Change Policy 2012-2017. The Policy, launched on 29 June 2012, identifies the policy roles of different institutions, enhances coordination of climate change work both at the local and national levels, and provides opportunities for cooperation between the government and other non-state actors.

13 July 2012: The UN Development Programme (UNDP) has released the ninth issue of its quarterly Climate Change Adaptation Bulletin, which features stories on UNDP support to: enhance adaptive capacity in Asia-Pacific; strengthen climate early warning systems (EWS) across Africa; and enhance adaptation interventions in Sudan.

This workshop is open to one member of civil society from: Cook Islands, Fiji, Indonesia, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. 29 June 2012: The Adaptation Fund Board approved a grant of $10 million to the Planning Institute of Jamaica to protect livelihoods and food security through the direct access financing pathway of the Adaptation Fund.
The Jamaica project is the third project to be approved by the Board through the direct access approach, following approval of projects in Senegal and Uruguay. The grant was approved along with six other projects at the 18th meeting of the Adaptation Fund Board, held from 26-29...
