This workshop is open to one member of civil society from: Cook Islands, Fiji, Indonesia, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. It is an opportunity for civil society organizations to interact with other colleagues and learn first hand about the Global Environment Facility (GEF) strategies and programs. 29 June 2012: The Adaptation Fund Board approved a grant of $10 million to the Planning Institute of Jamaica to protect livelihoods and food security through the direct access financing pathway of the Adaptation Fund.

15 June 20120: The Rio Conventions Pavilion at the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) focused on the theme of Ecosystem-based Adaptation.
