The Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG) workshop for Pacific least developed countries (LDCs) will take place from 28 September to 3 October 2012, in Tuvalu. The LEG aims to support the preparation and implementation strategy of national adaptation programmes of action (NAPAs). The agenda for the First Meeting of the Signatories (MoS1) to the UNEP/CMS Memorandum of Understanding on the Conservation of Migratory Sharks includes, inter alia: reports from the first, second and third sharks negotiation meetings; reports from signatories; consideration of a draft conservation plan; and administrative and budgetary matters. August 2012: Ministers of Pacific Island Countries have agreed on a regional cultural strategy, titled “Regional Cultural Strategy: Investing in Pacific Cultures 2010-2020.” The Cultural Strategy provides policy guidance for the Pacific, to assist in developing the cultural sector and promoting of Pacific cultures. 2 August 2012: The Pacific Plan Action Committee (PPAC) held a meeting ahead of the 43rd Pacific Islands Forum (PIF 43), to monitor progress on elements of the Plan. The 2012 Annual Pacific Plan Progress Report was presented to the Committee.

19 July 2012: Germanwatch launched a website addressing loss and damage caused by climate change, aiming to support Least Developed Countries (LDCs) in calling for action on the issue.
