22 August 2012: The Government of Vanuatu has officially announced its decision to join the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), by endorsing the IUCN Statutes, with the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources designated as its liaison with the IUCN Secretariat.

6 August 2012: The UN Development Group (UNDG) has released guidelines for national-level, multi-stakeholder consultations to help define the post-2015 development agenda. The consultations are to be held in at least 50 countries. UN agencies, funds and programs are invited to submit concept notes for consultations by 17 August 2012.
