26 November 2012: The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) led a peer review of the Federated States of Micronesia’s (FSM’s) development planning, budgeting, public financial and aid coordination processes and systems, during November.
Focusing on the capital state of Pohnpei, the review found that FSM is preparing to develop tourism in a sustainable manner through the adoption of a “World Park” concept.

27 November 2012: The UN University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) has released a report on climate-induced loss and damage, based on case studies from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Gambia, Kenya and the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). The study found that all five countries have suffered climate-induced loss and damage, despite implementing adaptation and coping measures.

22 November 2012: The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) has profiled the success of the Kutkut Mwo Materials Recovery Facility on Kosrae, in the Federated States of Micronesia. The Kosrae state government imposes a deposit fee on the importation of aluminium soft drink cans, plastic containers, bottled drinks and car batteries, which is set aside for recycling of the materials.
