10 December 2012: The latest issue of the Global Island Partnership’s (GLISPA) “Event Spotlight” features two events that took place on 16 October 2012 in Hyderabad, India, on the sidelines of the 11th meeting of the Conference of Parties (COP 11) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). Convened by the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), this two-week course is open to participants from the Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Marshall Islands, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. 19 November 2012: The Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC), together with the UN Population Fund (UNFPA), and UN Women, convened the “Regional Gender Mainstreaming Stocktake and Gender Statistics Meeting,” in Nadi, Fiji, in early November.

1 November 2012: Seven Pacific islands delivered the outcomes of their Cost Benefit Analyses (CBAs), during the conclusion workshop of the Pacific Adaptation to Climate Change Project (PACC). The Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) began the series of trainings in November 2011, to support countries in conducting CBAs and thereby improve the selection and design of adaptation projects.
