11 July 2012: At its 24th session, the International Co-ordinating Council of the Man and the Biosphere Programme (MAB) of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) added 20 new sites to the World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR), including in São Tomé and Principe and Haiti for the first time. 28 June 2012: The Central American Integration System’s (SICA) Council of Women’s Affairs Ministers (COMMCA) and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) convened the first Regional Conference on the Economic Rights of Women, with a focus on entrepreneurship, public policies and access to capital in the SICA member countries of Belize, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama.
