In partnership with the Government of Mozambique, the Nairobi Convention is organizing this meeting to discuss the implementation of the Nairobi Convention’s Work Programme and preparations for the Seventh Conference of Parties (COP7) to the Nairobi Convention, scheduled to be held in December 2012. 16 May 2012: Zanzibar, a semi-autonomous region of Tanzania, has lodged a membership application with the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC), according to a report sponsored by the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN).
