PACIFIC: UNDP global index ranks just five pacific nations

The United Nations Development Program has just issued its annual Human 
Development Report, focussing on the Millenium Development Goals.The summit 
adopted eight goals to be met by the year 2015.They covered issues of 
poverty, gender equality, universal primary education, reducing infant and 
maternal mortality, and protecting the environment. But only five Pacific 
nations are ranked in the report's global index of 175 countries.
