Regional Initiatives:
SIDSnet will work with any project in the island regions to leverage resources and maximise effective implementation of information technology for sustainable development by avoiding duplication. Currently we are working with the following projects:

Pacific Island Internet Project
Initiated by SIDSnet and the UNDP office in Fiji the Pacific Island Internet Project seeks to promote Internet use for development in the smallest of the island nations. This currently covers Niue, Tokelau, Nauru, Tuvalu and Kiribati and will be responsible for implementing the SIDSnet agenda in the region. Contact: Mark Borg - Project Officer

Asia Pacific D Information Project (APDIP)
Another project by the Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific managed from Kuala Lumpur. This project is focussed on assisting governments in the region develop an effective Internet/ information strategy. SIDSnet is working with APDIP and the PIIP on specific projects in the region.

Internet Initiative For Africa
 This project is the responsibility of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Africa. The project works with implementing an Internet strategy and infrastructure in 12 African countries. Fortunately this includes the SIDS of Sao Tome & Principe and Comoros. Initial pre feasibility visits have been made on behalf of IIA by SIDSnet to the above countries and this will be followed up by feasibility studies.
